Core Values

Faithfulness to Scripture-

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

  • Faithfulness to the God of the Scriptures and the Living Word, Jesus Christ, is of utmost importance to us as a body. We want to be a people, filled with the Holy Spirit, so that we will bring the ”aroma” of Christ to all people.

Constancy in Prayer-

“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” (1 Thessalonians 5:16-17)

  • Constant communion with our heavenly Father, in all circumstances, reminds us of our absolute reliance upon him.

Love for One Another/Love for Neighbor-

“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” (Hebrews 10:24-25)

  • The most common way humans experience the love and care of God is through his people. We pray for eyes and hearts to see his provision through the hands and feet of others.

Celebration of Sacraments-

“Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” (Acts 2:38)

“And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, ‘This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.’ In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, ‘This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.’” (Luke 22:19-20)

  • We rejoice in new birth! Whether this be the receiving of our covenant children or the spiritual new birth of adults, we celebrate in receiving believers into the community of Christ.

  • As we regularly partake of the Lord’s supper, we are reminded of his death and resurrection as well as the constant warm invitation into personal relationship and feasting with him.

Distinctives

  • We are a prayerful community, seeking opportunities to care for those around and among us

  • We are an observant community, always on the lookout for where God is already at work and where he might be moving

  • We are a relational community, knowing the names and honoring the stories of individuals

  • We are a re-interpreting community, grounding our present reality in the death and resurrection of Christ
