About us
Christ Community Presbyterian Church is a church plant with the feel of a home church — a place where people know your name, share life together, and grow side by side in faith. Inspired by the simplicity and devotion of the first-century church, we gather around Scripture, prayer, worship, and meals, seeking to follow Jesus with authenticity and joy. Our teaching is rooted in the Bible, our fellowship is grounded in grace, and our mission is to live out the love of Christ in our neighborhoods and beyond. Whether you’ve walked with Jesus for years or are just beginning to explore faith, you’re welcome here.
Our community is joyfully connected with ECO: A Covenant Order of Evangelical Presbyterians, and locally supported through South Scottsdale Presbyterian Church. One of the defining rhythms of our life together is the meal we share after every worship service—a time of fellowship, connection, and belonging. We invite you to join us each Lord’s Day as we gather for worship and around the table.

Our Mission: To be a bold and embodied expression of the love of Jesus.

Our Vision: To be a sanctuary of belonging and healing, boldly embodying the love of Jesus by embracing the outcast, restoring the wounded, and cultivating a healthy community that reflects God’s heart for the world.

Experts say we are living through a loneliness epidemic. Even though we are more connected than ever before, so many feel isolated, unseen, and without meaningful connection. As a sanctuary of belonging, we long to be a community where every person is known, seen, and loved.

Life often leaves us weary—tired, overwhelmed, and anxious—whether from personal struggles or the weight of the world around us. As a community of healing, we desire to come alongside one another with compassion, bearing burdens together and reminding each other of God’s sustaining presence.

Many of us carry unfulfilled longings—relationships that never took root, dreams that went unfulfilled, or places in our lives that feel empty. As a people of hope, we seek to join one another in those longings, offering presence and encouragement, and pointing to the One who meets us in our emptiness with life.

And for those who feel aimless—waking each day to the same cycle, wondering about purpose—we long to cultivate a community that restores meaning. Together, we believe that God calls us into a greater story, where even the ordinary moments of life are caught up in His redeeming work.
our pastor:

Lisa McFarland
Lisa McFarland is a newly ordained pastor with a call to plant a church in Mesa, AZ. While her ordination is recent, she has been serving in pastoral ministry for many years. She holds a Master of Arts in Counseling from Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia and is the Executive Director of Polis Recovery Project--a counseling nonprofit. She draws on her training and experience to walk with people through the pain and suffering of life in a broken world. Lisa’s ministry is shaped by a deep desire to embody the way of Jesus and to proclaim the redemption and hope that can be found only in Him.

Lisa and her husband, Jay, share the joy of a blended family with six children, three grandchildren, and three tiny, lovable dogs. Lisa is originally from the Pacific Northwest, while Jay hails from West Virginia. Though their life journeys were very different, each came to know a God far more gracious and compassionate than they had ever imagined. From the earliest days of their relationship, it was clear that God had brought them together to reflect His love to the world around them.

Lisa’s work as a counselor has deepened her awareness of the wounds people carry and the urgent need for churches that genuinely embody the Spirit of Christ. She believes that what we need most is not simply more churches that talk about Jesus, but communities where people can truly encounter Him. Lisa’s desire as a pastor is to continually root her own hope in Christ and to lead others into that same life-giving relationship with Him.
